When an animal dies who has been especially close to someone here, they go to a place known as Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all our special friends, so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content except for one small thing, they miss someone that was very special to them who had been left behind.
They run and play together but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His eyes are bright and intent. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands caress the beloved head and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

Today is one of the saddest days of my life, for today I have lost a true, devoted and loving friend. My heart is broken and my tears will not stop falling even as I write this little farewell. Today my little Jake having fought a brave battle,...lost...and has passed from this world into a much kinder and brighter one. I was there the day, the hour and the second he was born and I was there the hour and second he passed away. I will miss him greeting me at the door, watching TV on my lap, sharing my popcorn (it was his favorite treat) but most of all I will miss him just being here.
Remember sweet Jakers to watch for me when it is my turn so that we may cross Rainbow Bridge together. I miss you so much!
In loving memory of our sweet little Jenny girl who passed away August 17th, 2006.
